My original paintings of hummingbirds, raptors, shorebirds, songbirds, and woodpeckers celebrate that we are kindred spirits with the creatures of nature. Each handmade piece honors the beauty, intelligence, strength, and playfulness of birds using sophisticated palettes, revealing details, and expressive movement. I hope my work helps you slow down in a world teeming with distractions, so you can have your own dialogue with nature and draw inspiration from your special bird.

Materials:
Each watercolor original is unique and the only one of its kind. My process starts with a very loose wet-on-wet process with squirrel brushes, then built up in careful layers until the bird’s personality emerges. Created on 140lb Arches Watercolor Paper with Japanese Sumi-e Watercolor Paint designed to last a lifetime.
Frame Details:
All my work is elegantly framed with a light grey matt in a handmade wooden frame with a lovely grey-washed finish. The frames are 1.5" deep and crafted from solid wood by my favorite local framer, Preservation Framer.
